On the early morning of August 28, 2009, a smoke was deducted entering the building at rear door of GDI. Soon enough the fire was extinguished with no one affected. This minor accident went out to be fine due to quick response of one person: Rajesh Kumar.P; one of the company’s security guards.

Kumar was able to react immediately once discovering the smoke by calling the civil defense and HSE department. After putting the fire out, the civil defense inspected the situation and it was evident that the fire was in an AC unit in the electrical room just outside the back door.
