With the cooperation of the Board of Governors of IIA Qatar Chapter, GDI sponsored the Chapter’s first National Conference on Internal Auditing, held in Qatar University Doha, from 3 April to 5 April 2009.

The theme of the conference was: “The Auditor as catalyst for change and wealth creation”

H E Abdullah Bin Ahmad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, delivered the opening address at the conference on 4 April 2009. Prof. Sheikha Abdulla Al-Misnad President of Qatar University gave a welcoming address.

Attendees at the Conference included Internal Auditors, External Auditors, Business consultants, Risk managers, General Managers, members of Audit Committees, Educators as well as many people from other disciplines in the business world.

The speaker’s presentations focused around the central theme of the conference, adding value to all the attendees.
